Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for all of you, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

We celebrated a day early since my Mom came for a visit.  Of course we made a bunch of yummy food and ate too much but had a wonderful time.

After spending all day cooking yesterday...I would love to know what some of your signature/special dishes are.

Things are pretty traditional at my grandmother's house for thanksgiving (where I've had nearly ALL my thanksgivings), and since moving to Australia where they don't observe, I've taken to celebrating with mashed potatoes and peas to give thanks, and of course pumpkin pie.

My mom always slow-cooks the turkey over night. I didn't even know you could cook it on Thanksgiving Day until recently. It's super easy and leaves you free for making other things.

You thaw and clean the turkey. Cook it on 300 degrees for an hour and then turn it down to 200 degrees and cook it over night. (Google it for the exact number of hours. We did 19 hours for a 20lb turkey.

Love the quote Marie. So much to be thankful for. Hope your holidays are going great. Just a few days away from Christmas. Thanks for dropping by my blog.
