Ahhh Spa

A client I have had for a long time was ready to tackle/update her master suite....We decided on a spa blue color and went from there....

First things first....Here was her bedroom before....That Ralph Lauren pattern was soooo popular for sooo long but it was time for it to go....

My client loves toile, so I was very excited when I found this for her...

As you can tell she loved her swags so we kept them just like they were but did them in the spa color.

Then we tackled her loveseat that is in her master bedroom...She said that all her grandkids while they were growing up always slept on this loveseat when they stayed the night.

But now the kids are older and braver to sleep upstairs and so we can do a more adult color on her loveseat....This fabric is sooooo soft and luxurious, I wish you could feel it from your computer monitors.

So the bathroom was all cultured marble and I had a pretty tight budget on this bathroom but we needed to add more than some paint to really make a difference....So the first issue I had to tackle was this SILLY cultured marble area of the floor I guess that was to protect the floors originally...Not sure?

I was told that the floors had to stay BUT of course I couldn't find a perfect match, so I recommended we enlarge the shower and the tub deck and bump it up to the original tile floors...And it worked, they love it!

I was able to find a tile that was close enough for the vertical tiles that bumped up to those floors, can you tell?  None of us could.

Oh and by the way that is an air bath, which my client has already have several baths in and is in love.

Before:  Not horrible, just boring right?

After:  Fresh!

Before: Close up of cultured marble shower

After...See any differences?

Can you really have enough shower heads and body sprays when building your own spa?

Before: Vanity

After: Vanity...My client repainted and upholstered the vanity chair herself, nice right?

So my client has always loved polished brass but I convinced her to go with the Moen Antique Bronze for a more updated look...She loves it.

In person it actually has a bit of silvery tones to it, can you tell from my photos?

We got this job done right in time for Thanksgiving and her house full of 25 guests!  She later told me her master suite was a huge hit with the family...My work here is done.

What do you think?

When Size Matters...

....And a king bed is simply too small, here is an option to consider.....The  EXTREME UltraKing beds!

These beds are for people who don't think a King is big enough....Which sometimes quite frankly is me, when it's just me and my hubby no biggie, but when Calvin our dog climbs in with us (he may only weigh 55 lbs but he stretches to 6' and is all legs, need I say more?)

Of course they hail from Las Vegas but you know they could've hailed from Texas too where everything is bigger.

(Woman from picture optional...JUST KIDDING, but this woman in the picture gives you a  better idea of just how HUGE these beds are?)

Check out who has this bed here. Which for the most part makes perfect sense, NBA and NFL players...I am surprised that Hugh Hefner who doesn't seem to leave his bed much, isn't listed on here as having one.  But on a serious note, really being 5'9 1/2" I have slept in beds that were too short and were very uncomfortable, so I can only imagine how being well over 6' would be for sleeping in most beds.

On their site, you can buy everything from the actual bed to the mattress right down to the giant bedding.

I just realized something...Making this bed would be a BIG chore and even bigger than that would be getting the sheets into my washing machine and dryer, now how does that work?  Multiple loads?

What do you think?  Are you or someone you know in need of some extra space and could use a UltraKing?

Master Makeover is Complete!

Well I meant to get this out sooner rather than later but we had an issue with one of the table lamps that has now been corrected.

Remember this room?

If you want to read the back story and see more "before" pics check that out here.  But for all of you who are eagerly awaiting the completed room, here it is.....

Of course we aren't totally done, because even though they still don't want a duvet cover they would like some king shams to cover up their sleeping pillows....We are going to have them made in the same fabric as the valance, my client LOVES that fabric.

We made it all work quite beautifully don't you think?

One of the stunners of the bedroom are these beautiful, handcrafted crystal finials from Orion Ornamental Iron.....

They almost have a rainbow of color in them depending on how you look at them.  The hubby was afraid at first, thinking they may be way over the top, code word, "girlie" but the wife tells me that he looks at them quite often and says how "cool" they are.

If you like them too they come in many shapes and sizes...

Do you like the extra drama created with the crystals?

I love it when we finish a clients room/home and they not only love it but they want to show everyone who walks in the door of their home, that makes me feel good, my work here is done...Well except for those king shams we still need to make. ;)

100 Down....Still a Work in Progress

Today is a milestone in my blogging, it's my 100th post....I can't believe it, yeah!

Of course I had this really cool blog post done last night on this fine art gallery I stumbled upon, and poof it disappeared.  But in order to get this out by my deadline I am going to have to start a new topic because I am still so mad that the other is GONE!

Oh by the way, these sunset pictures were taken outside of my house last night, after I lost my blog post, so some good happened and I wanted to share them with you.

So to keep things light today, I thought I would show you a job in progress.... It will be finished next week, so you don't have to wait too long to see it....

I NEVER like to show these because most people, even my clients, can't appreciate the "final result" until it's completely done, but maybe you will....Do I dare???

This is my clients master bedroom...LONG story short, the bed and bedding has to stay per the husband, but new wife wants the room spruced up from all the dark furniture and to make it hers.

BEFORES:

So I came up with a palette to tone down all the dark wood but add some spunk without being too girly....I built off this floral pattern as my big dramatic piece (which I used for the headboard to catch your attention).

Then to tie it all in we are having 2 cushions made, one for the window seat in that "Peacock" faux suede and the other will be for the bench at the end of the bed in a leopard faux suede (which let me state now the hubby wasn't too thrilled with).

So far the headboard is done and is just floating out there....

But I already see a light at the end....Well in this picture too, ha!

Speaking of light.....The following new table lamps arrived last night and my client said they look even better in person, she was thrilled!!!  These will replace the tired ones they currently have on their night stands now.

The last fabric in that palette is that goldy/checked one and that will be for a valance above the window to draw your eye up, oh yeah we are losing the wood stained 2" blinds for some light colored Silhouettes.

I of course will show you the finished project next week....Stay tuned....And in the meantime let me know if you can see this room finished yet.

Have a great weekend everyone, we are off to the Pecan Festival with Calvin, woof!
